We're on vacaton this week in Vermont (brrrr). As I was taking ski lessons the other day, I noticed the amount of families and I couldn't help but think what our vacations will be like when we eventually start a family. But, for right now, it's just us.

After being bundled up outside all day, the only thing on my mind was hot chocolate, a movie and bundled up under a blanket. You see, Chris has at least 600 movies in his collection. I'm not kidding. It's unreal. Anytime we're at Target (at least twice a week), we always seem to leave with another movie. Earlier this week it was Big Hero 6.

I'm a sucker for Disney movies so I may be biased but this one made it to the top of our list. I could watch this over and over again. There's something about Disney movies that takes you back to your childhood: Cinderella anyone?

We always seem to...

Extra Crispy Baked Onion Rings

Sprinkles side dish, sides, appetizers

Extra crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Easy and insanely delicious baked onion rings -- a healthier version of the classic.

There are very few things that make me more giddy then sprinkles, which is exactly why I'm so darn excited to share these onion rings with you.

I love fries with a burger, but give me perfectly crispy onion rings and I'm in heaven (insert tons of emojis.)

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that pretty much anything fried just takes something to the next level -- fried oreos anyone? But, I went ahead and added a healthy twist on a classic fried favorite and it takes just as good. I'm tellin' ya, you won't even be able to tell the difference.

Your ketchup will thank you...

How to Start a Food Blog

Sprinkles how to, 1st birthday, blogging tips

*Disclaimer: To celebrate Christina's Baking Adventure's 1st birthday (formally Christina's Kitchen), I am putting together a series of posts around blogging. Prior to CBA, I had no blogging, writing or photography background, however I do have a background in technology and web design. All of my thoughts and advice are based on what I've learned along the way.

Let's get started with the backbone of your blog, aka: the tech stuff. It may not sound interesting, but without it, there is no blog.

Exactly 1 year ago, I decided to start a food blog. Prior to starting...

Cookies n' Cream Cupcakes

Sprinkles cupcakes, oreos, chocolate

Rich chocolate cupcakes with a crunchy surprise in the middle, topped with sweet vanilla frosting speckled with Oreo cookie chunks.

What a week (and weeks to come.) I will be out of the kitchen 3 weekends (and 2 weeks) in a row. Don't worry, I'll still be sharing new recipes with you.

I feel like I have been non-stop and it is only to continue until we get back from Vermont the first week of March. My house is out of sorts and all I wanted to do was get in the kitchen.

You see, a few weeks ago I was given a challege: add oreos into a cupcake. My taste testers are always expecting out-of-the-box cupcakes. I wasn't just going to crumble oreos and toss them in batter. Who am I? Challenge...

Fresh Caprese Pasta

Sprinkles dinner, gluten free, vegetarian
Pasta square

Tomato. Basil. Mozzarella. Balsamic. There is nothing that beats that combination. It's amazing how such simple, fresh ingredients can create such a flavorful dish.

There is nothing that beats the tomato, basil and mozzarella combination. Am I right? In celebration of the re-design, I whipped together our favorite dinner to celebrate.

If a meal has "caprese" in the title, I want it. It is amazing how such simple, fresh ingredients can create such a flavorful dish.

And, on the plus side, most "caprese" dishes are simple and fast. For those with busy schedules, you will have dinner on the table in 20 minutes -- that even includes cooking the pasta!

We grow basil year round here at the Tattory/Kelly household, so it is always at my...
